Why Give to the New Jersey Veterinary Foundation?
When you support the NJVF you are supporting a wide variety of animal welfare programs selected by veterinarians for their value and impact on the health and well being of animals.
Veterinarians hold a deep appreciation for the human-animal bond because they see it in action every working day. They see the devotion people have for their pets, and they see the unquestioning love pets feel for their owners. It is the inspiration of the human-animal bond that led most veterinarians to their profession.
When the NJVF selects programs and organizations to receive financial support it looks for those that support and nourish that bond – programs that promote the health and well being of animals.
Over the years veterinarians have made major contributions to the New Jersey Animal Population Control Fund. This fine program provides low-cost spay and neuter procedures for animals adopted from shelters and has dramatically reduced the number of unwanted animals that wind up being euthanized in shelters.
The Foundation has supported pet loss grief counseling services, therapy animal programs and many other activities that promote animal welfare.
In addition, the Foundation provides financial support to New Jersey veterinary students who, because New Jersey has no veterinary school, are forced to pursue their education out-of-state. The financial support provided to students by the Foundation helps ensure that New Jersey's pet owners will continue to have access to the best veterinary care available.
